Mike Spinner, one of the most innovative park riders in the history of the sport, has announced that he will personally be giving $500 to the rider who lands the trick that stands out to him the most at each stop of the 2023 USA BMX Freestyle Series.
“I’m retired, but still love being a part of the sport whenever I can be," said Spinner, who notably invented tricks like the 1080 and quad tailwhip.
Mike picked Robin Meza's footjam to downside tailwhip at Stop 1 to be the first recipient of the award. Robin was ecstatic and plans to use the additional cash to travel to more events.
For events Mike isn't able to attend, he will pick the winning trick from watching footage on social media and footage provided by USA BMX.
