USA Cycling has released the official list of riders to take on the 2023 World Championships in Glasgow. From longtime members of Team USA to new faces repping the Red, White, and Blue for the first time, the US riders taking on Glasgow will have only about a month to prepare with their own programs and a USA Cycling camp coming up in Tulsa preparing them for the chance to make history.
The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships will make history in Glasgow, Scotland as the first World Championship where 13 events will be contested across 7 disciplines. 20 Americans will compete in the BMX Racing events on August 12-13, 2023 at the Glasgow BMX Centre.
An important note is the injury list rising for the racers who were expected to be on the team. Mongoose's Cam Wood is out with a shoulder injury from the early rounds of Turkey's World Cup, and 2023 National Champ, Anthony Bucardo, is out with an elbow injury from the following weekend at the European Cup Round. Developing just this past weekend in Reno was the crash in 17-20x that claimed Junior Men's, Cedric Cade. While an official injury is not known, we know he will be doing everything in his power to line up in Glasgow.
